LIVING SOILS REGENERATE SOULS!
The core principle that drives our design is equitable accessibility and affordability which addresses both the built environment and the natural environment. As part of our planning, we focus on three broad areas: Land and resource management, Water management and Earthen construction.

LAND REGENERATION
Soil conservation for denuded and over-grazed lands is very essential for the restoration of biodiversity in any region. In the process of preventing soil erosion, improving the health of the soil is imperative. Practices like composting, mulching, creating nurseries, building garden beds, contour trenches, bunds and swales, also help with percolation of water which further increases microbial activity and helps restoration of local flora and fauna.
WATER MANAGEMENT
Water is essential for self-sustenance and fundamental all other regenerative practices. Every drop counts, but it is important that the drops don’t hit bare soil, causing further erosion. To ensure conservation and frugal use of water, we carry out water audits, design and implementation of contour bunds, rainwater harvesting tanks for storage and percolation, design of rainwater filters, small scale greywater systems and dry compost toilets.
EARTHEN CONSTRUCTION
Design and construction with local materials like mud, stone, wood and bamboo are going out of reach of the rural people and becoming elite materials. These were the materials over which the rural poor had a monopoly and access, which are now becoming expensive and mechanized. Our effort is towards making this available and attractive for the rural people too instead of them going in for cement blocks and concrete structures.
PERMACULTURE DESIGN
The concept of Permanent Agriculture is very inspiring as it offers a wholesome approach that includes land regeneration, freshwater and greywater management, food production, animal husbandry, energy efficiency, ecological construction with appropriate technological interventions This enrichment has to happen on the land itself without bringing much from outside. We provide a holistic design, a guide and action plan for implementation.
MIYAWAKI FORESTS
Miyawaki forest creation is a method of ecological engineering today known as the “Miyawaki method” after the botanist who discovered it. It encompasses the restoration of native forests from seeds of native trees on very degraded soils. The plantation is done at close intervals and the trees grow faster due to the companionship of the native species with each other. We provide guidance to ensure thriving miyawaki forests with minimum external inputs.

Waste Management
The way of life that is the convention today has many aspects that perpetuate waste. To make a positive impact on the situation and reverse the degradation of the planet, we need to change our ways. Minimalism is the way to go! Localization and conscious consumerism are the mantras that we have to chant. We provide consultancy and support implementation to ensure that you can convert your waste into an asset.
